Wildcat Village Hütscheroda

See wildcats in the Wildcat Village Hütscheroda

Here, they are not hiding: In the Wildcat Village Hütscheroda, everybody can catch more than a glimpse of the shy wildcat and the beautiful lynx. In the woodland next door, however, they are hunting, climbing and fighting in much more secretive ways.

The Wildcat Village is right at the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage site Hainich National Park Hainich. Visitors can get to know the shy animals in the Wildcat Enclosure, the information centre Wildcat Barn and from the look-out Hainichblick. The wildcat, being a rare species with high demands on its habitat, epitomises the much needed linking of habitats and is representative for many endangered species of animals and plants.
