Guided Walks

National Park Guide

60 people are currently involved in the Hainich National Park as volunteer national park guides through the "Ehrensache Natur - Freiwillige in Parks" program.

They are trained as nature and landscape guides and are certified by the Hainich National Park. They support the full-time staff in guiding groups of visitors and in some cases also offer guided tours on specific topics. You will find a wide range of offers in the MITMACHEN program .

If you would like to book a guided tour with a national park guide, you can find and contact the right national park guide for you using the following table. Elka Komitova und Anne Marie Pries will be happy to guide you in English.

Christine Breitbarth-Nagel, Elke Ulber, Petra Heiße, Juliane Gerhardt, Markus Horn, Bernd Baumbach and Reinhard Melzer will be happy to guide you along the treetop path. Elka Komitova and Anne Marie Pries guide you in English.

Regular ranger hikes

From April to October, the national park offers guided ranger hikes on the Thiemsburg nature trail on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These events are suitable for all age groups, but are not barrier-free. The meeting point is the landscape relief in front of the National Park Center. These hikes start at 1.30 p.m. and last around 90 minutes.
