Restaurant & Hotel "Graues Schloss"
The castle's origins date back to the 17th century. The "Grey Castle" was renovated in 1998 and eight rooms were created, amongst them a beautiful bridal suite. A total of 16 people can be accommodated here. On the menu, you find regional specialities whose names have a direct link with the national park: e. g. the Betteleiche National Park Platter, the Breakfast Beech, the Harsberg Pot, the Pilot's View and the Wolf's Garden.
The restaurant serves home-style cooking: Thuringian specialities, game and homemade cake. The castle's magnificent rooms – Knight's Room, Hunter's Room and Ancestral Hall – provide the perfect setting for every occasion, whether it's a dinner for two, a family gathering or a sociable gathering.
In summer, you can sit in the castle grounds with its beer garden and observe the residential bats flying in and out of the old ancient walls.
