Rennstieg-Hotel Rettelbusch
and Waldgasthof & Hotel Hainich Haus
The Rennstieg-Hotel Rettelbusch with its restaurant in Kammerforst is an ideal starting point for visiting Hainich National Park. The Waldgasthof & Hotel Hainich is also conveniently located. From there, it is only a few minutes' walk to the forest, and several national park walking paths as well as the Red Route pass by both houses. They are both managed by the Rettelbusch family of innkeepers from Kammerforst.
Both hotels can accommodate 30 to 40 people and are also suitable for groups and coach parties. The cosy restaurants mainly offer good solid country fare and Thuringian specialities. At tea time, guests can enjoy a large selection of home-baked cakes based on grandmother's recipes.
The Rennstieg Hotel is the birthplace of the painter Adolf Rettelbusch, known for his paintings of the Brocken, a mountain in the Harz - some beautiful original paintings can be seen in the hotel.
