Federal Volunteer Service

Federal Voluntary Service (BFD)

The aim of the Federal Voluntary Service is to raise awareness of sustainable development among those interested and to show them career prospects in nature conservation and environmental protection. Interested parties should be over 27 years old (FÖJ is possible under 27), the period of service is 6 to 18 months, depending on requirements and opportunities. Volunteers are covered by social insurance.

The Information and Environmental Education Department of the National Park Administration is looking for committed and creative ambassadors for the National Park! As a federal volunteer, you should use your enthusiasm for people and nature to help protect this unique area, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011. There are opportunities to work in environmental education (e.g. accompanying and carrying out hikes, environmental education events and project days for school groups of all ages at all times of the year) as well as in the area of activity of the national park rangers (e.g. maintenance and repair work: Checking visitor facilities, hazard prevention, machine and equipment maintenance, waste disposal).
