Crazy about nature

Are you interested in environmental and wilderness education, visitor information, visitor direction and public relations?  Do you have an outgoing and communicative personality and would like to engage with visitors to our national park, in particular children and young people?

The Department of Information & Environmental Education is looking for one or two zealous and creative national park ambassadors! As an intern, you will be contributing to the protection of this unique place with your enthusiasm for people and nature. Core areas of the internship are:

• accompanying and leading guided walks, organising environmental education events and project days for pupils of all ages in every season,
• supporting the educational opportunities for the "Adopted Woodland Schools",
• participating in the supervision of Junior Ranger groups,
• conducting wilderness days and nature camps,
• developing and producing educational material,
• participating in communication and public relation duties of the national park (e.g. organisation of and assistance with special events, manning our information desk at major events etc.),
• conceptual work with regard to visitor information and visitor direction.

Where possible, there is always the chance to look around other departments of the national park authority (ranger, research projects etc.).

As a trainee, you should be highly motivated, outgoing and self-assured and, above all, spontaneous and creative. The ability to work in a team is also essential. Since you will be primarily working with children, a bit of phantasy is also required. Some initial experience in teaching or a basic knowledge of natural sciences facilitate the start into this internship.
